When we started to  breed Pekingese we had one rule that we stressed VERY STRONGLY to the kids.  We are NOT keeping any of the puppies unless they have a quality we want to add to our breeding line.  We all agreed that we would not name the puppies so that we would not get as close to them and become attached.  Well.......it didn't take long to see that these little ones will worm their way into your heart no matter what, and all of them are missed when they go to their new homes.    AND.....occationally, no matter how hard we tried to gaurd against it, one of them would be so different than any of the others, and so intertaining that we could not BARE to part with them even though they were not "breeding quality".  These puppies stayed with us here at Sally's Pekingese not part of our breeding stock, but as our pets.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.

Take naps and stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.  On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Be loyal and never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!

Meet our Pets

Angel-is our 4 1/2 year old 1/2 Shelti and 1/2 Corgi mix.  Angel was already with us before we started breeding Pekingese.  We have had her since she was 6 weeks old and, since she  was never meant to be a breed dog, we had her spayed before she was a year old to keep her from breeding.  She TRUELY believes that she is a Pekingese though, or a human (depending on which she is with).  Her herding instinc,t gained from her Shelti side, has her helping us keep all of our little ones right near us. Neither us or the Moms ever have to worry about any of the pups wandering off with Angel around as she will herd them all back to us.   She LOVES to play with the pups though and serves as a wonderful source of entertainment for us as she plays with them all.

Talk about a Happy Face!

Blaze is unsure if he is a dog, a cat, a human, or what.  He loves to try and sit on my daughter's shoulder when he is not playing ball with her.  Blaze was the smallest of Ginger's males and was just so darn cute that we could not bear to part with him.  He is now almost 16 months old, is FULL of energy, and is the part of Ginger that we have left here at Sally's Pekingese.  (along with her memories of course)  He has been primarily raised by my daughter and is SPOILED rotten!  He pouts when she leaves him to go somewhere and if he manages to get outside when she is leaving he will be in her car before she even notices.  He has been neutered and will remain with us here until my oldest daughter leaves home and takes him with her.

Have you ever seen a cuter face?
