This page is dedicated to Angela, who started her life out here at Sally's Pekingese under the nickname Fatty Patty.

Each of or babies here at Sally's Pekingese are a part of our family.  Putting them together with their new families brings us great joy as well as a little bit of sadness to watch them leave.  The smiles on the faces of their new families and the stories and pictures that are shared with us throughout the years make it all worth it though.

However, every now and then their stories do not end on a happy note.  Angela's story was one of these such instances.  She was well cared for and loved by her new family and yet her life was cut short by an unconcerend driver who chose to speed down the road almost hitting her owner's boyfriend and taking the life of Angela just a few short months after she went to her new home.  This left all of us here at Sally's Pekingese as well as her new family devistated!

Angela will always be remembered fondly and loved much.

The Wisdom of a Child

As a veterinarian, I was called to examine a 10 year old dog.  The dogs owner, his wife, and his little boy were all hoping for a miracle.  After examining the dog, I found that he was dying of Cancer.  I explained this to the family and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made the arrangements the couple explained that they thought it would be best for their 6-year old son to observe the procedure.  They felt that he might learn something from the experience.

The next day I felt that familiar catch in my throat as the family surrounded the dog.  The little boy seemed so calm, petting the dog for the last time, that I wondered if he truly understood what was going on.  Within a few minutes the dog peacefully slipped away.

The little boy seemed to accept the dog's transition without any difficulty or confusion.  We sat together for a while after the dog's death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal's lives are shorter than human lives.  The little boy, who had been listening quietly, piped up "I know why."

Startled, we all turned to him.  What came out of his mouth next stunned me.  I had never heard a more comforting explanation.

He said "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life--like loving everybody all the time, and being nice, right?  Well, dogs know how to do that so they don't have to stay as long."

Some of our customers are so happy with us that they have returned to purchase more puppies from us.  Angela Moore and Sid Green and Judy Odom are some of those buyers and below is what they had to say about us after each puppy.

Hi Regina,
My email address has changed so I wanted to give you the new one. Jasper wants to Thank You for the Christmas gift. I hope everybody that comes to your website understands how wonderful you are. I would never buy a pekingese from anyone but you. I could not be happier than with Jasper. He adds sunshine to my families life everyday. I will send you pictures soon. Thanks and have a good New Year.

You have done it again Regina.  Angela is so precious and she makes me laugh.  She hops like a bunny and she puts Jasper in his place.  I am always so pleased with your puppies.

I just wanted to share how much I love you Regina.  I am always amazed when I get your puppies about how well the pups fit in with our family.  From the minute they get off the plane it's like they have always been a part of our family.  The pups are always so loving  and cute.  I was a little worried about how I was going to react to a new puppy after loosing Angela because I loved her so much.  This little girl is so perfect though.  She does some of the same things that Angela did that always made me laugh and she is so tiny and loveable.  She is my youngest son all over again.  She runs faster backward than frontward and she rolls when she tries to run to fast.  Thanks so much again Regina.

Hi Regina, Hope everything is going good for you. Hope your in your new house and all your bad luck has flown away in the wind. Jasper and Sissy Girl are doing great. Sissy Girl fits her to a Tee. I thank you so much for the gifts you have given me by selling these to perfect babies to me. They have helped me thru alot lately. The loss of my mother was one of the biggest hurtles they helped me with. And the two are quite a pair. Although we still miss Angela greatly. Seeing Jasper and Sissy Girl together is quite amazing. But since we spoke last we have also acquired some more pets. 13 Ducks and 14 Chickens and I am loving every minute of it. Well hope everything is getting better have a good Labor Day. Hi: saw your new web site and saw the two little varmits and they had no name so I thought I would let you know that the white one in Moore is Dakota and the rotten little one that has a $2000 bark is CHEROKEE.  They play and are best of friends and so far there is not one thing that is sacred to them if they can find it and get it into their mouth its fair game. But all in all I would not trade either of them for a million dollars. They are more fun than anything. They have found out that I have a soft spot for them and if they get into trouble they are right there as close to me as they can get and love to lick and prove it was an accident and they will not do it again until I look the other way. They have been a blast. Waiting for spring as they have a space of their own in the back yard and that is their area and even the cats are not allowed in their area. Oh well I have rambled on for long enough so Until another steals my heart be good and take care…..

Originally we were going to buy one white female Pekingese from Regina of Sally's Pekingese.  When Regina got there to meet us though she had the cutest little tiny girl in the backseat with her as well.  Well, I told her she was the rottenest woman in 3 states to bring that little girl for me to see like that and the next week Judy and I met Regina again to get the little one.  After that we kept an eye on her website and, wouldn't you know it, we found another little girl with the cutest face!  Regina called her Nutmeg and now we are up to 3 Pekingese.  We told Regina that she is not allowed to put any more cute puppies on her website.  We will see if she listens to us.  :)

Hi, I purchased a puppy from Regina in October of 2007. I was quite concerned about purchasing a puppy because I have 2 older dogs who I was afraid would get sick because of a new pup coming in after all these years. I voiced my concerns to Regina and she quickly calmed and re-assured me that everything would be fine and it was!! Regina is VERY knowledge, loving with her puppies and very upfront and honest and will help ANY WAY she can. In fact when my pup arrived in Canada we were missing a piece of paperwork which meant that Jasper would have to stay overnight in Custom's.. while this thought just totally upset me. Regina was on her way back home and stopped at a truck stop and faxed me the information I required. Since then we have become close friends and she answers any and all questions I have. When it is time to get another brother or sister for Jasper, Regina will be the very first person I will contact. Her puppies are happy, healthy and just plain FANTASTIC!! Thank you Regina for taking the "worry about buying something over the internet" away. It was a smooth, happy experience for all involved!

Regina's knowledge of Pekes certainly made the transition of Biscuit's new home easy.  Getting him to me was no picnic thanks to the OK ice storm of Dec 2007. So when flight problems arose, she jumped right on it and pulled me through it ( I was an emotional wreck when he missed his flight and had to spend the night in an Atlanta pound). When he finally arrived at the airport, I was amazed at how well he fared his trip and so proud of how magnificent he was. He was every bit of what she said he was and what I saw in the pictures she sent. My children said he looked like a small lion that they wanted to rename him Mufasa (of the Lion King). We have kept in touch since his arrival; she even sent a Christmas care package of some of his favorite homemade treats! There's nothing to compare that kind of caring to. He is a happy, healthy dog and a permanent member of our family.
Thank you Regina and Sally's Pekingese.

Hi Regina,

Cookie was 2.2 lbs at the vets office. I had to tell you that my vet asked a lot of questions about where we got Cookie, about the breeder. She was really impressed by all that I told her. She said that Cookie is  very sturdy, she had no heart murmurs and everyone in the office was coming in to see her. They said they don't often get to see a purebred peke. Cookie goes back on Monday for a booster and I'll have them weigh her again.Thank you again for the puppy. We just adore her. My husbands family is talking about getting a peke for my mother in law. She's in love with the puppy we got and a peke would be the perfect dog for her. She's hasn't had a dog for years. The last dog she had was a long haired collie that died after the groomer burnt her with the hair dryer. She was so heart broken that she got an alarm on the house and hasn't had a dog since. I'll keep checking your website to see when you are expecting puppies again. I wouldn't get a peke from anyone else. Thanks!!!

We really love our new puppy, Linda, we got from Sally's Pekingese.  She is so cute and loving and she smelled really good when she got off the plane 8 hours after leaving Regina's care at Sally's Pekingese.  My wife loves her so much she told me I would be sleeping on the couch so that Linda could sleep in the bed with her.
